15th Anniversary! Sunday Mornings 5Rhythms BODY PRAYER

Welcome to Sunday morning 5Rhythms BODY PRAYER with Ruth Hirst and Will Street October 11th marks our 15th anniversary of moving together in community, movement, music, healing and transformation. 11.30am - 1.30pm Dance 1.30pm - 1.45pm Sharings of moving in our community 1.45pm - 2.30pm Cake (gluten free, vegan, nut free, refined sugar free), mingling, singing, playing instruments - if you want to bring an instrument and or your voice, if this calls you, please do so. How to celebrate and move with all that is moving within you - grief, joy, anger, sadness, love, life, the curiosity, the not knowing... everything and anything. How do we let life move through us - whatever the feelings, thoughts, sensations - so we're moving with life, instead of squashing and editing what's coming through? To let it move in, through and out, giving space for new possibilities... By popular demand - we're celebrating our journey with Will Street playing live on electric violin. He is a force to be reckoned with... We'll also move to eclectic, soulful, tribal, electronic, afrobeats and world music, and with Will accompanying, the music is taken to another level. The music will touch your body, heart and soul - guaranteed. During the years that our community has been growing, we have moved from West London to North London. The community has stuck together and followed where we have landed. The Large Dance Studio at Acland Burghley School has become our home for many years - extending out as our community grew. This is a diverse 5Rhythms dance community, and often we'll move together with each decade from under 10 years old to over 85. We're all from different countries, walks of life, coming together to move - so our body heals, lets go of holding onto things, and letting that ripple out into our every day life. I believe we're all seekers of life. When we show up for ourselves - and be with the comfortable as well as the uncomfortable - we're not hiding from ourselves, we're showing up, and in that showing up we witness and are able to be with ourselves and each other. It's such a relief to actually show up how we are in the moment, instead of constantly holding onto a mask. When we soften into what's going on for us, the power behind what it is softens too... In the dance, we witness each other - and that's where the healing happens. What makes this community special is how none of us are trying to fix anyone - there is an allowing for each of us to be in the moment, whatever is coming up for each of us. This is more than dancing - this is about a way of listening to how our bodies are guiding us in the moment to move. There is an innate wisdom of the body - a bodyscore - that is constantly moving and fluctuating... it is from the dance, in coming together in community, that we hold this energy for us all... A time to Breathe, Move, Express, Let Go, Breathe... Repeat! To move in awareness, attention, intentions, invocations, offerings in the journey of your dance. No steps to learn, only your choreography in the moment. There is no right or wrong way of moving. Only your way. Your dance! New and experienced dancers all welcome. Alone, together, we're more together than alone... let's come together to celebrate our inclusive community.
