5Rhythms® with Judit Juhasz — Saturdays at Eastway Baths Saturday 12 September | 10:30am–1:00pm Eastway Baths, 80 Eastway, Hackney Wick, London E9 5JH Come as you are. For one Saturday morning, we gather at Eastway Baths to move, breathe, listen and dance through the 5Rhythms. 5Rhythms is a movement practice that invites us out of our heads and into direct experience through the body. There are no steps to learn and no choreography to follow. Instead, we move through five different rhythms — Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness — each offering a different landscape to explore. You might arrive energised. Tired. Curious. Restless. Full of thoughts. There is no particular state you need to be in before you begin. The invitation is simply to start where you are and allow movement to become a way of listening. The morning Doors open at 10:30am . We begin with a 30-minute arrival and warm-up. This includes light somatic facilitation, giving you time to land in the room, notice your body and begin moving at your own pace. At 11:00am , we come together for a two-hour 5Rhythms Wave. Judit will offer light verbal guidance as we travel through Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness , with plenty of space for the music and your own movement to lead the way. Sometimes the dance is quiet and internal. Sometimes energetic and expansive. Sometimes we meet something unexpected. There is nothing to perform and nowhere you need to get to. The practice is in noticing, moving and staying curious about what is here. Please arrive no later than 11:00am , so that we can begin the Wave together. The space We dance at Eastway Baths in Hackney Wick , home to the Community Sauna Baths. The setting gives us the chance not only to dance, but to linger afterwards if we wish — to eat, have a drink, connect with others or book a sauna session. What to bring Please bring a filled water bottle so you can stay hydrated throughout the dance. Large bags and outdoor shoes are left in the changing area. Valuables and water bottles may be brought into the dance space. What to wear Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. Layers are useful. Your temperature can change considerably as we move from the more energetic parts of the Wave into quieter movement and Stillness. We ask everyone to keep their top and bottoms on throughout the event , supporting a space of shared comfort, safety and equality. Sauna after the dance If you would like to stay on after dancing, the Community Sauna Baths have sauna sessions available, subject to availability. Sauna sessions are booked separately and can fill up, so advance booking is recommended. Bring your own towel and swimwear if you plan to use the sauna. Food and drinks The Baths also serve hot and cold drinks alongside a selection of reasonably priced plant-based food . So if you would like to stay for a while after the Wave, there is space to eat, rest and let the morning settle before heading back into your day. About 5Rhythms® Created by Gabrielle Roth, 5Rhythms is a dynamic movement practice based around five rhythms: Flowing. Staccato. Chaos. Lyrical. Stillness. Together they form a Wave — a simple movement map that gives us a structure while leaving each dancer free to discover their own dance. There is no choreography to remember. You are invited to listen to your body, respond to the music and explore what becomes possible through movement. Saturday 12 September 10:30am–1:00pm Eastway Baths 80 Eastway, Hackney Wick, London E9 5JH Come move with us.
