Family constellations workshops in London
Family constellations is a group process developed by Bert Hellinger. One person brings an issue — usually about family, relationships or a repeating pattern — and chooses people from the room to stand in for family members. Placed in space, the representatives often feel and say surprising things, and the facilitator works with what shows up.

- The group sits in a circle. Someone with an issue tells the facilitator briefly what it is, then picks representatives for themselves and the people involved and places them in the room. The representatives report what they sense, and the facilitator moves people and offers sentences until the picture settles. Each constellation takes thirty to sixty minutes.
- Do I have to bring an issue?
- No. Many people come as participants only, representing in other people's constellations, which is how most people learn what the work is like. Bringing an issue is often priced higher and booked ahead.
- Is family constellations therapy?
- It's used alongside therapy but isn't a regulated treatment, and the evidence for it is limited. It can bring up strong feelings, so look for experienced facilitators, and tell them beforehand if you are in crisis or recently bereaved.
